Please note that you are welcome to take as many courses as you wish, provided you have access to free enrollment or the means to pay for them.

Enrolling for courses in the Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey Learning Management System is a straightforward process. Here is a step-by-step enrollment guide.

1. Finding Your Course

Before you can enroll, you need to locate the course you want to take.

  • Navigate to the Course Library: You can find courses through the main menu link “Courses” or through the featured courses listed on the home page.
  • Select a Course: Click on the course title or featured image to go to the Course Content page. This is where you will see the syllabus and the enrollment button.

2. The Enrollment Process (2 Scenarios)

Depending on your “Access Mode” set by the instructor, you will follow one of these two paths:

Scenario A: Free Courses

  1. Click “Login to Enroll”: On the course page, you will see a button labeled “Login to Enroll” or “Take this Course”).
  2. Register/Login: If you don’t have an account, click the Register link in the pop-up modal or on the page. Enter your name and email.
  3. Automatic Access: Once registered or logged in, the button will change to “Take this Course.” Click it, and you are immediately enrolled.

Scenario B: Paid Courses (Direct Purchase)

  1. Click “Take this Course”: This button usually displays the price.
  2. Checkout: You will be prompted to enter your payment details (typically via Stripe or PayPal) directly on the site.
  3. Account Creation: During checkout, you will create your username and password.
  4. Confirmation: After a successful payment, you will be redirected back to the course page with full access.

3. Accessing Your Content

Once enrolled, follow these steps to start learning:

  • Go to your Profile: Look for a “My Account” or “Profile” link in the navigation menu.
  • Start the Lesson: Click on the course title from your list of enrolled courses.
  • Click “Start Course”: This will take you to the first lesson.

Tip: If you are enrolled but still see a “Locked” icon next to lessons, check if there is a Prerequisite. You might need to finish an introductory course or a “Welcome” lesson before the rest of the content unlocks.
